I hope you are well. We will have a USA Judo Coach Certification Clinic on Saturday, March 12 for Developmental, State, Regional, National and Continental Level Certification. Please see details below.
Also, please consider coming in on Friday evening for our “Friday Night Rumble”. USA Stars is offering an extra training session every Friday from now through the USA Sr. Nationals for green belts and higher – Juniors and Seniors. Sensei Clint Dake is the event coordinator for these sessions. The focus of the Friday Night Rumbles is randori, with a little bit of instruction. There is no fee for Rumble Sessions. Guest must sign participation release forms. The Rumble starts at 6:30pm. Please arrive early so you can warm up.

Clinic Time -
Clinic starts at 10am. All participants must attend the first portion of the clinic. Developmental, State and Regional will end at noon. National Level will end at 2pm. Continental Level will end at 3pm. (be sure to check rank requirements below). All new coaches start at State Level.
Clinic Feet: $30.00 if you are not applying for certification (clinic fee is waived for individuals obtaining certification at this clinic)
Certification Fee: $70.00 annually
Requirements for Certification and Program Details;
1) Membership with USA Judo. Please bring your Membership Card or a copy of your receipt. If you need to get a membership, please do so electronically before the clinic at www.usjudo.org
2) Background Screen with SSCI (a form is attached) You must submit your background screen application before the clinic. Do not include your screen application with your Coach Certification Application. Screens are valid for 4 years. Applicants must be 18 or older. Download here.
3) Sankyu judo rank or higher. Brown belts may obtain State Level Certification only. Applicants must have a Shodan or higher for Regional and National Levels. Sandan and higher is required for Continental Levels. If your rank is not verified on your membership card, you must bring a copy of your rank certificate to the clinic.
4) Developmental Coaches must be a minimum of green belt and at least 16 years old. Developmental Coaches are not permitted to coach mat-side. A background screen is not required for Developmental Coaches.
5) If you are a new coach, you must bring a passport photo with you to the clinic for your ID Card.

USA Judo Membership Card or receipt
Rank Certificate (if not verified on USA Judo Card)
Passport Photo (new coaches only – you do not need to bring a new passport photo if we already have your photo on file)
Fee – $70.00 made payable to USA Coach
Paper and pen for notes
